Celebrate the kick-off to summer at Penn’s Landing Latin style with an exciting two-day program on Race Street Pier.

Saturday and Sunday May 26-27 this holiday weekend, the scenic Race Street Pier on the Delaware River Waterfront will be hosting fun Memorial Day celebrations to ring in summer 2012.

Raices Culturales Latinoamericanas will present “Strong Roots: A Latin Arts Explosion” featuring live musical performances by Johnny Cruz’s Latin Jazz Ensemble, Zumba exercise sessions, cultural crafts, spoken word performances and children’s activities.

During programs and events, visitors will be able to find food concessions and a variety of food trucks parked just outside the pier.

For example, Friday night the food trucks heading to the pier will be Sweetbox Truck, Lil Dans, Gozen Yogurt and The Smoke Truck.
