2012 is becoming the summer of soccer in Philadelphia!
Just a few weeks after Chelsea FC faces the MLS All-Stars at Lincoln Financial Field on July 25, the World Football Championship comes to Philly as international powerhouse and reigning champions of Spain’s La Liga, Real Madrid, will take on Scottish Premier League champions, Celtic FC, at the Linc on August 11.
This will be Real Madrid’s second trip to Lincoln Financial Field in two years as just last year the club faced the Union in front of a crowd of more than 57,000 raucous soccer fans.
The atmosphere should be equally electric for this rare match-up between Real Madrid and Celtic FC; the teams haven’t played each other since 1980, adding even more excitement to the highly-anticipated match.
Details have not yet been announced about the teams rosters, but we’re expecting a quality showing from the teams’ roster of stars, including the likes of Chistiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos and Kaka.
Tickets start at $30 and are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com so move quickly!
