The American Swedish Historical Museum Celebrates Beer At The 2012 SmorgasBeer’d, Saturday, July 14

A taste of Sweden meets the Philadelphia beer scene at the 2012 SmörgåsBeer’d at the American Swedish Historical Museum.
Spend a summer evening sampling lagers, ales, stouts and more paired alongside a spread of savories like Swedish meatballs, cheeses and sausages.
In attendance will be Philly Beer Scene editor Mat Falco to guide guests through a tasting of brew from Yards, Triumph Brewery, McKenzie Brew House, the Bottle Shop and Free Will.
Guests will have an opportunity to visit the museum’s new Swedish Market Deli only open during special events. The market will be selling Swedish favorites like herring, lingonberry preserves, crisp bread, cheeses and seasonal specialities.
The evening also includes a raffle, museum tours throughout the evening and music by DJ Lou Diamond.
Advance tickets are available now for $25. VIP admission is $50 and includes a tour with the museum curator, specialty parking and table-side drink service. All proceeds from this event go to benefit the ASHM.
