Join Mayor Michael Nutter and hoagie lovers across the Philadelphia region to celebrate Wawa Hoagie Day 2012.

Associates from Wawa, the namesake of Philadelphia’s 10-day July 4th celebration Wawa Welcome America, will serve up a Hoagie of Heroic proportions – weighing in at more than 4.5 tons.

The “hero” theme plays into honoring American troops. During the event, be sure to visit the “letters from home” station to show support for those fighting overseas.

You can also enjoy a concert by the Liberty Bells, the official USO Show Troupe, plus don’t miss the hoagie-building contest to benefit local charitable organizations.

Check out more details on Wawa Welcome America, including free outdoor movie screenings and two completely free fireworks shows, here.
