White Pines Productions in Elkins Park has just announced the performance schedules of its three exciting summer residency groups: Team Sunshine Performance Corporation, Tangle Movement Arts and Haymaker.
All performances are free to the public and will take place at the strikingly beautiful Elkins Estate at various times throughout the month of July.
Launched in summer 2011, the Resident Ensemble program is a centerpiece of White Pines’ mission. It offers performing arts ensembles a week of room and board at the stunning and historical Elkins Estate, plus access to the interior and exterior spaces of the estate for rehearsal.
First up is Philadelphia’s Team Sunshine Performance Corporation, which performs original physical theatre works through its own brand of collaborative play-making and writing that has hilarious, dark and surprising results. Catch them on Sunday, July 8 from 7-9 p.m. RSVP here.
Also from Philly, Tangle Movement Arts is an eight-woman circus arts company working in traditional circus disciplines like trapeze, aerial silks and acrobatics, as well as music, drama and spoken word.
Tangle’s free performance will be Sunday, July 15, from 3-4:30 p.m., a work-in-progress created at White Pines that doubles as a preview of their Philadelphia Fringe show “You Don’t Say.” RSVP here.
Lastly, hailing from Durham, North Carolina, Haymaker is a new performance company producing original work by collaging found texts and personal experience.
While at White Pines, they’ll host a “dinner party” as part of its latest collaged work based on the Greek tragedy Elektra on Sunday, July 22, at 7 p.m. RSVP here.
