Zahav’s Annual “Down The Shore” Philadelphia Chefs Event Scheduled For July 3; Tickets Available Now

The lights will be low, the food will be hot, the star power will be on fire at this annual Down the Shore fete at Zahav. (Photo courtesy Zahav)

For the third year, Chef Michael Solomonov of Zahav is hosting his “Down the Shore”-themed party at the Old City restaurant, one of the best Philly chef soirees to kick off Fourth of July festivities, and this time around he’s going all Walking Dead on us with a Zombie Luau, Tuesday, July 3, starting at 6 p.m.

Where else can you find a room full of Hawaiian Michael Jackson Thriller zombies wearing blood, guts and grass skirts while eating and drinking cuisine from our city’s best of the best? We think a zombie flash mob should be added to the mix.

Prepare yourself for another dose of crazy food fun as the returning chefs tantalize your taste buds with a packed lineup including hors d’oeuvres from John Taus of The Corner, Peter Woolsey of Bistrot La Minette, Jen Carroll (when is Concrete Blonde opening!?), Monica Glass of Fish, Erin O’Shea of Percy Street Barbecue, Terence Feury of Fork, Pierre Calmels of Bibou and David Katz of Meme. Pretty sweet deal.

In addition to the guest chefs’ sips and nibs, Solomonov and his Zahav team will prepare a pig roast and buffet that’s sure to release a zombie-inspired growl of delight, as well as provide live entertainment, a photo booth and zombie face painting.

The night of the undead is $75 a head, and only 150 tickets are available which must be purchased in advance by calling Zahav at (215) 625-8800.

Down the Shore 3: Zombie Luau
