August Is Philly Feastival Month At COOK, With Chefs Participating In The September Food Festival Teaching Special Classes
September has proven to be one of our favorite months to enjoy the outburst of cultural offerings Philadelphia has to offer.
Supporting the many talents of local artists, the annual Live Arts-Philly Fringe Festival, September 7-22 this year, provides two entertaining and stimulating weeks of unfiltered, cutting-edge performance art.
And landing in the middle of this world class affair is Feastival, a delicious benefit for the Fringe that gathers the culinary skills of more than 80 Philadelphia chefs joined by live music, dancers, auctions and entertainers partying to raise funds for the city’s cultural economy. It’s like Cirque Du Soleil meets the James Beard House on a red carpet.
Co-hosts Audrey Claire Taichman, Michael Solomonov and Stephen Starr will once again team up to present the 2012 Feastival, Wednesday, September 12 at Pier 9 on North Columbus Boulevard, and tickets to the three-hour, you-really-don’t-want-to-skip-this party are available now.
What’s more, Taichman will incorporate Feastival’s chef lineup into COOK’s August class schedule, with Feastival chefs teaching classes all month long that collectively supply an amuse bouche for the main event.
Enrollment to sit in and be taught by one of the 80+ participating Feastival chefs begins today, July 11 at 2 p.m. There’s a lot up for grabs in the coming weeks. Don’t miss out!
