Grab a blanket and save your place on Independence Mall as Peter Nero and the Philly Pops will once again celebrate America’s birthday with a patriotic free concert on the lawn of Independence Hall tonight, July 3 at 8 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and picnic baskets.

Don’t forget that there’s a Mural Arts Community Paint Day preceding the concert on the mall, from 2-5 p.m. Help paint the awesome Roots Mural on on parachute cloth material before its placed at its permanent location in the South Street neighborhood.

Fun bonus: Mayor Michael Nutter will serve as guest conductor for the final number of the Pops concert. See you there!
