It’s summer, which means we’ve been bitten by the outdoor movie bug.
Here’s another great series for your outdoor movie fix.
The Northern Liberties Neighbors Association, partnering with Awesome Fest, has kicked off its annual free Summer Movie Series at Liberty Lands Park. Don’t forget your leggings, tube socks and neon garb because this year, they’re bringing you the best of the ’80s.
Every Thursday at 8:30 p.m. through August 30, Liberty Lands will be screening your ’80s favorites on a giant inflatable screen on the park’s performance stage. Bring a chair or a blanket and some snacks (sounds like a picnic to us!) and enjoy a relaxed summer night outdoors.
Some screenings will even feature fun, movie-related activities. On July 26, you can battle your own Marshmallow Man with a campfire roast during Ghostbusters. There will also be a video game tournament during the screening of The Wizard on August 30.
Check out the full schedule, below:
• July 19: National Lampoon’s Vacation
• July 26: Ghostbusters (with a marshmallow roast)
• August 2: PeeWee’s Big Adventure
• August 9: Top Gun
• August 16: Predator
• August 23: Beetlejuice
• August 30: The Wizard (with a video game tournament)
