MindSpot To Offer Short, Innovative Summer Courses At The Plastic Club In Midtown Village

Even though Pink Floyd tells us that “we don’t need no education,” we might have to disagree.
MindSpot, a new organization devoted to continuing adult arts education in Philadelphia, has launched a new program of short courses and workshops at The Plastic Club in Center City.
Classes and workshops cover a wide range of topics such as: visual and performing arts, writing, science, pop culture, cultural history and many more. Learn something new through discussion, demonstration and hands-on activities.
Bonus: classes don’t require a long-term commitment. (Heads up, visitors to Philadelphia.)
Here’s a list of their current offerings, below:
• Tell Me a Story: A Storytelling Workshop
• Sing Out, Louise: Broadway Basics
• Talk to Me: Improvisation for Singles, Couples and Professionals
• Help!: How to Ask for What You Want
• Shorts For Summer: How to Write a Short Film
Registration and full course descriptions can be found online.

I attended the inaugural MindSpot class on Gyotaku, the Japanese tradition of fish printing, and it was awesome!
I really liked the Gyotaku class. The atmosphere was relaxed, the teacher was well prepared and the other attendees were friendly. I an looking forward to the next class.
