If you’ve been to South Street, you’ve probably seen the impressive mosaic work at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens (PMG) by artist Isaiah Zagar.

On Saturday, July 28, PMG hosts its 5th annual ART/GAGE Festival featuring music, dance, interactive activities, art installations and live art creation. From noon to 10 p.m., the festival will take over the 1000 block of South Street.

Celebrate Philadelphia creativity with more than 20 art vendors and 14 organizations, offering unique crafts, hands-on activities and fun for the whole family.

Tons of great Philly food vendors will also be serving up your favorites, including: Lucky Old Soul’s, ButterCream Cupcakes, Dapper Dog and Little Baby’s Ice Cream.

The streets will come alive with music and dance performances. During the day, enjoy free performances by the seven-piece jazz, funk, hip-hop and rock sensation Swift Technique and the incredible movements of traditional Bhutanese dancers, among many others. We also hear there’s going to be some family-friendly drag throughout the day. Definitely something not to miss!

During the later hours, ART/GAGE will take the festivities into PMG with performances by Cuddle Magic, Catnaps and fire dancers. This later portion will also include complimentary beverages donated by Spodee, Fergie’s Pub, and Narragansett Beer Company.

Bonus: the day portion of the festival is completely free. The evening portion is only $12 for general admission (BYO blankets and beverages!) or $15 for admission with complimentary drinks and access to PMG’s galleries.
