Quince Productions’ 2nd Annual “GayFest!” Returns This August For A Month-Long Celebration Of LGBT Theater

With Pride Day so early in the summer, it’s about time to bring another wave of LGBT celebrations to Philadelphia.
Quince Productions’ 2nd Annual “GayFest!” returns with a lineup of great LGBT theater performances including four running repertory plays, eight one-night engagements and three staged readings from August 3 to September 1.
This year’s festival promises to be even bigger and better than last year’s, with more shows and performances. From limited engagements to longer running shows, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. All performances will take place at the famous Plays & Players Theater in Rittenhouse.
The festival kicks off on Friday, August 3 with the New York dance troupe The Bang Group in their premiere Philadelphia performance of Misters and Sisters, followed by a gala opening night party.
The four main stage plays of the festival include: The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later, Mike and Seth, The Well of Horniness and The Crumple Zone, all moving, inspiring and sometimes comical performances representing the diversity of the LGBT theatrical community.
Sundays and Mondays throughout the festival will feature a variety of one-time performances: three staged readings of new plays and “one-night stands” by local playwrights and artists. Many of them will be debuting their work, so come support Philadelphia artists.
A full schedule of performances can be found online.
Some single performances start at just $15. Tickets and festival passes are available online or at Giovanni’s Room bookstore (1145 Pine Street).
