Reminder: Philadelphia Orchestra’s Free Neighborhood Concerts Return This Week, At Curtis Arboretum July 26 And Penn’s Landing July 27

The world-renowned Philadelphia Orchestra continues their Free Neighborhood Concert Series for 2012 with two free outdoor concerts this week, Thursday, July 26 and Friday, July 27.

For both programs, Cristian Macelaru will conduct the orchestra in the Dvorak Carnival Overture; Saint-Saëns “Bacchanale,” from Samson and Delilah; Fauré Pavane; Wagner “The Ride of the Valkyries,” from Die Walküre; Mendelssohn Nocturne from A Midsummer Night’s Dream; and Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet.

At 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, the orchestra will perform at the beautiful lush Curtis Arboretum in Wyncote for the first time.

The series continues at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 27 at the RiverStage at Penn’s Landing with beautiful views of the sparkling waterfront during sunset. Plus, the concert will also kick off the Friday Night Lights firework series.

Free outdoor concert and a dazzling fireworks show to cap off the night? Done and done.
