Rum Bar And Han Dynasty Team Up To Present Duke’s Surf Bar, A One-Night-Only Tiki Pop-Up, Thursday, August 16

As part of Philly Rum Week, Adam Kanter of Rum Bar and Katie Loeb of Han Dynasty are joining forces to serve a side of tiki alongside your glass of something dark, light and spiced with their pop-up: Duke’s Surf Bar.
Named after the founding father of surfing Duke Kahanamoku, and inspired by the tiki craze started by Ernest Gantt’s first Polynesian bar, Don the Beachcomber, during 1930′s Los Angeles, Duke’s Surf Bar will revive the exotic tropical movement by transforming Rum Bar on Thursday, August 16, into the popular surf-themed watering hole that made its mark on the scene for four decades.
The duo will mix and serve a specially crafted menu hinting at a brief description of the 20 featured tiki cocktails covering the sweet, spicy, sour and strong boards and served in ceramic tiki mugs at $10 a pour for one night only.
Polynesian small plates will be available to add to the experience, and Loeb’s mixology book, Shake, Stir, Pour: Fresh Homegrown Cocktails, will be available to purchase.
Rum Bar will also play host to four additional events during Philly Rum Week which runs Tuesday, August 14 through Saturday, August 18. Details here.
