The 18th Annual Philadelphia Qfest LGBT Film Festival Hits The Screens Thursday, July 12-Monday, July 23

The 18th Philadelphia QFest, the city’s LGBT film festival reeling everything from comedy and drama to hot-button issues of immigration and the legalization of same sex-marriage, returns to the screen Thursday, July 12 through Monday, July 23.
Playing exclusively at the Ritz East and the Ritz at the Bourse in Old City, Qfest 2012 introduces 107 films including features, documentaries, shorts and world premieres opening with the Philadelphia premiere of Elliot Loves and closing with the east coast premiere and second showing in the world of BearCity2: The Proposal on Sunday, July 22.
Following the opening night film, festival goers are invited to the official Opening Night Gala Party, an indoor/outdoor soiree at Table 31 from 9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. complete with DJs spinning, a sculptural ice bar, cocktails, three complimentary drink tickets and hors d’oeuvres for $40 (includes film and after-party) or $35 (party only).
The party doesn’t stop there. Qfest attendees will bid farewell until next year during the official Closing Gala Night Party at SugarHouse Casino, 9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m., with more dancing, drinking and entertainment from The Drag Mafia. Tickets are $35.
And if you haven’t met your drag quota for the evening, the after-after party will strut its way over to the Bike Stop where the dancing will ensue until morning.
Tickets and the full Qfest lineup can be purchased and viewed online.
Missed a screening? Festival favorites will be announced and screened for a second helping on Monday, July 23.
