Imagine spending a warm summer’s afternoon enjoying the natural beauty of a calm, tranquil river while quietly canoeing along its open waterways.
Then afterwards, visualize partying the night away by chowing down on tasty barbecue and dancing to the beat of rocking live music.
That’s the awesomely fun dichotomy that is “Tip-A-Canoe and Barbecue, Too” hosted by the Brandywine River Museum on Saturday, July 14, from noon-11 p.m.
The day starts off in Chadds Ford. Guests get bussed to a launch site in West Chester, where they can relax and get in touch with nature as they canoe through babbling streams.
At 5 p.m., the barbeque begins, followed by dancing and live music by The Bullbuckers.
Interested? Canoes must be reserved by July 10. Tickets must be purchased in advance and include canoe rental, BBQ, cold beverages, beer, wine and live music.
Proceeds go towards the Young Friends of the Brandywine Conservancy, a membership group and volunteer committee of young adults dedicated to furthering the goals of the Brandywine Conservancy.
Call (610) 88-8315 for tickets, or email youngfriends@brandywine.org.
