Get ready for an evening of tricked-out costume changes drag, and virtuosic prop construction, as the Philadelphia Museum of Art says “Vive la France” on July 13 in celebration of Bastille Day.

The Bastille Day edition of “Art After 5″ will feature a cardboard tour of Paris with The Bearded Ladies, an experimental cabaret group that performs French favorites including “La Vie En Rose” and “Non Je Ne Regrette Rien.” With wit and homespun sparkle, they engage in popular culture, gender politics, identity and artistic invention.

And like every Friday throughout the summer months, the popular “Martinis on the Portico” aspect of the evening will be available, too, offering delectable cocktails and a spectacular view of the city on the museum’s east terrace.

Francophile performances, confetti and cocktails? Sounds like the perfect way to kick off a summer weekend!
