Everyone’s favorite animal-centric beer festival returns this July, celebrating award-winning seasonal brews while inviting guests to get up close and personal with the Philadelphia Zoo’s exotic residents.

More than 20 breweries will be participating in the Philadelphia Zoo Summer Ale Festival including Triumph, Lancaster Brewing and Sly Fox, with food provided by local spots like Smokin’ Betty’s, The Farmer’s Cabinet and Bourbon Blue.

This year will also feature a crop of some of the newest nano-breweries in the area, including Evil Genius, Neshaminy Creek and Round Guys Brewing.

Admission covers all the food and drink you please, a souvenir mug and parking or a shuttle to and from 30th Street Station. A VIP ticket gets you an extra half hour to enjoy the festival and access to the air conditioned VIP area at the PECO primate reserve.

This year’s event will also feature an interactive 3D experience entitled Trail of the Lorax, a collaboration with Dr. Seuss that highlights the endangered orangutan in an attempt to raise awareness and protect the species.

Tickets are available online.
