City Tap House To Host The Second Annual Watermelon Day Party This Friday, August 3

Watermelon’s the fruit of the season.
It’s crisp. It’s refreshing. And it’s taking over City Tap House in University City.
This Friday, August 3, City Tap House celebrates National Watermelon Day starting at 4 p.m. The summer bash, back for its second year, will feature live music and enough watermelon to last you… well, until Watermelon Day next year.
Your favorite summer fruit takes the form of $5 watermelon cocktails and $4 draft watermelon lagers and wheats. Sounds like summer to us!
Melon enthusiasts can enter the eating contest for a chance to win City Tap House gift certificates, beer prizes and Phillies tickets.
Or try your luck at the dunk tank. Friends of City Tap House and Variety Club will be taking the plunge to benefit The Children’s Charity.
Awesome bonus: all the watermelons for the event are purchased locally in support of local farmers. (We’re looking at you, Philly Homegrown!)
