Back in June, we told you that DiNic’c at the Reading Terminal Market was due to represent Philadelphia in the Northeast regional episode on Adam Richman’s Best Sandwich in America, a new sandwich challenge show on the Travel Channel.

Well, DiNic’s represented Philly and represented our sandwiches well. The roast pork sandwich from DiNic’s took down sandwich challengers from Primanti Bros. in Pittsburgh and Katz Deli in New York City to take home the Northeast regional title.

The win secured DiNic’s a slot in the season finale, which is set to air tomorrow night, Wednesday, August 15 at 9 p.m. on the Travel Channel.

DiNic’s is one of 10 regional champions from across the county that earned a spot in the finale. You can check out the other contenders and the complete sandwich brackets here.

But the really awesome news is that Philly is going to have two representatives on the show’s one-hour final episode. In addition to the 10 regional finalists, there will be two surprise “wild card” sandwich challengers on the season finale. And one of the wild cards will be a sandwich from John’s Roast Pork in South Philadelphia.

But while DiNic’s will be representing with a roast pork sandwich, the sandwich candidate from John’s won’t be its namesake roast pork sandwich, but will actually be one of its famous cheesesteaks with fried peppers.

During the finale tomorrow night, the 12 remaining sandwiches will go head to head to narrow it down to six semi-finalists, which will then be narrowed down to three finalists, which Adam Richman will then judge one final time.

Will a Philly sandwich reign supreme? With two of the 12 best sandwiches in the country, we kinda’ like our chances.
