In Riva, the casual, Southern Italian-inspired eatery owned by chef Arthur Cavalier, welcomes Bar Fiume, a new outdoor patio overlooking the Schuylkill River in East Falls.

Constructed from reclaimed wood and stone, the 150-seat, open-air bar boasts In Riva’s full food/drink menu accompanied by happy hour offerings Tuesday through Friday afternoon and Saturday late night.

Summer bites and sips quench the palate with introductions of beet panzanella insalate, tuna annerito, speck and pineapple pizze, Italian craft beers, new and old world wines and specialty cocktails.

Bar Fiume, which Cavaliere says was largely based on his days spent working at Derek Davis’ (of Derek’s on Main Street in Manayunk) former restauarant, Arroyo, hopes to provide a relaxed outdoor environment where groups can gather and unwind.

A great option to include in the city’s selection of outdoor dining locations, Cavaliere intends to keep services operational throughout the cooler months with the addition of fire pits and heaters.
