Celebrate sustainability in Phoenixville during the Third Annual Green Earth Festival this Saturday, August 4.
From 9 a.m.-2 p.m., enjoy the outdoor farmers market and festival featuring eco-friendly exhibitors, food, music and family-friendly entertainment along the Schuylkill River Trail (from Taylor Alley to the Foundry) to celebrate Phoenixville’s commitment to create a sustainable community.
Enjoy music and dance performances by Joe Wilson, the Barn Swallows and Linda Baker. Artists of all ages can decorate the trail with chalk or participate in this year’s community art project of making flags and banners and decorating solar clothes dryers strings.
The festival is as much about celebration as it is about education. Find out more about green vehicles, the new Phoenixville Community Garden and how to build your very own solar hot water collector.
While you’re there, take advantage of the great outdoors. At noon, you can join Master Naturalist Ben Connolly for a hike through the French Creek, Phoenix Iron Canal and Rock Dam Fish Ladder to the top of the Bluffs.
Also, free bike rentals will be available on the trail as part of Bike Schuylkill. Awesome.
You can do your part to make Phoenixville a more sustainable community, too. Bring your clothes and shoes for a Drop-and-Swap and leave the festival with a whole new style. All leftover clothing will be brought to the local Goodwill. Check out a map of the fest, below.
