The highly anticipated “Made in America” Music Festival, curated by Jay-Z, will be rocking the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in less than two weeks, on Saturday and Sunday, September 1 and 2.
Featuring nearly 30 musical acts over two days in a giant outdoor setting in Center City Philadelphia, Made in America is already shaping up to be one of the year’s biggest new music festivals.
And now comes news that Jay-Z has tapped Oscar-winning director Ron Howard to film a documentary chronicling the planning and execution of the event.
Three Stages
Over the course of two days, acts like Drake, Skrillex, Chris Cornell, Rick Ross, and headliners Pearl Jam and Jay-Z, will grace three stages (and one giant electronic-dance tent) strategically located throughout the festival area.
The Made in America lineup also boasts a number of locally-grown acts, including Jill Scott, Santigold and Meek Mill. Check out the full lineup over at Philly 360°.
Tickets Still Available
Tickets are still available and can be purchased at madeinamerica.com as one-day or two-day admission passes. VIP tickets, which include exclusive access to viewing areas and VIP lounges are also available.
Remember, Made in America is a ticketed event and will not be open to the public for free. The festival will be surrounded by two eight-foot fences, and many areas and roads adjacent to the Parkway will be inaccessible; for example: the softball fields located at 22nd and the Parkway.
Check out the map below to see the street closures and an overview of the event-perimeter fencing.
Parkway Attractions
While the festival is taking place on Saturday and Sunday, the museums and attractions located along Benjamin Franklin Parkway will remain open during both days, with the exception of The Rodin Museum.
The Philadelphia Museum of Art and its Perelman Building, as well as The Barnes Foundation will all operate during their normal business hours on September 1 and 2.
