The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) is utilizing their quaint Pop-Up Garden in Rittenhouse to combine imbibing and fundraising needs this September to benefit the City Harvest Program, an initiative which grows and donates fresh produce to help feed 1,000 families each week.
Located on Walnut Street between 19th and 20th Streets, the backyard garden, adorned with splashes of colorful plantings, chairs and umbrellas, invites guests to join PHS around the picnic tables for an evening happy hour, Thursday, September 13, 5-8 p.m.
The PHS Pop-Up Garden is normally only open with morning, afternoon and early evening hours, but it’s opening specially late for this happy hour event. And, incidentally, the pop-up gave visitors a taste of its twilight event-hosting capabilities as part of our Moonlit Movie Screening in Rittenhouse Square.
Cocktails along with fresh bites from Chipotle Mexican Grill, a sponsor of the Pop-Up, will be provided with the purchase of a ticket.
Your contribution ($40 before August 30 and $50 after) can be made online or by contacting Bridget Bonasch at bbonasch@pennhort.org.
