In a world of online movies and lackluster blockbusters, there comes a festival highlighting the best upcoming films from around the world. The 21st annual Philadelphia Film Festival is that festival and it returns on October 18-28.
The 11-day festival features hundreds of films from around the globe, special events and screenings of some of the most talked about films at the Sundance and Toronto Film Festivals.
Past highlights include Black Swan and The Artist, two films that went on to win big at the Academy Awards.
New this year, you can purchase a weekend pass granting you a four-day weekend packed with film screenings and admission to the opening or closing night film and party.
Tickets are also currently available in six-packs or you can go for the full experience with a silver, gold or platinum festival badge. Individual tickets to on sale October 1 (September 28 for Philadelphia Film Society members).
Check back for more details on the complete schedule, a beginner’s guide and more as the festival draws near.
