Manayunk Debuts First-Ever StrEAT Food Festival, September 29, The Kick-Off To Manayunk Restaurant Week, September 30-October 12

Lots of food happenings are in store for Manayunk as it welcomes the all-day inaugural StrEAT Food Festival, Saturday, September 29, and introduces the neighborhood’s first-ever Restaurant Week running Sunday, September 30 to Friday, October 5 12.

The StrEAT Food Festival will take place along the retail corridor of Main Street (between Green and Shurs Lane) as 20+ award-winning Philly food trucks set up shop in the street for sidewalk passerby to enjoy.

Not just a day of leisure, the festival will act as a competition between the mobile operations as each vendor must prepare at least one entree or dessert using the selected key ingredient: apples.

The appropriately seasonal dishes will be judged and scored by a panel of local celebrities, and a peek at the entries show tastes of Apple Jack burgers, apple chutney hot dogs and spiced apple cider pops.

Picnic-style seating will be available for guests as well as two temporary, outdoor farmer’s markets — at the Levering Street parking lot and Lock Street parking lot — for visitors to peruse and enjoy.

Then, launching the very next day, for the inaugural Manayunk Restaurant Week, Manayunk’s restaurants will prepare special dinner and drink, three-course menus priced at $10, $20 and $30.

Similar to Center City District’s popular Restaurant Week series, it’s a great excuse to visit new and favorite dining spots.
