This Saturday, September 8, as we mentioned a few weeks ago, the double whammy of an event in Northern Liberties returns to Liberty Lands Park.
Head out for fantastic ribs prepared by individual and restaurant contestants, plus the commemorative, bottomless beer cups — and of course a great roster of local music.
Here’s the schedule:
• Rib Cook-off: 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Enjoy delicious ribs, Vegetarian Quickfire items and an Anything Goes Taco Takedown. It’s $20 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under (kids under 5 eat free). A portion of the proceeds benefits Teens4Good, which runs the urban garden at 8th and Poplar Streets.
• Music Fest: 4:30-10 p.m.
Great music, more food and the bottomless beer cup.
4:30 p.m.: The Art Fischman Jazz Quartet
5:15 p.m.: Jacob Waters
6 p.m.: 56 Men
6:45 p.m.: Chalk and the Beige Americans
7:30 p.m.: Astronaut Your Country
8:15 p.m.: The Really Cooks
9 p.m.: St. James and the Apostles
It’s two awesome events back-to-back in an awesome neighborhood for an awesome cause. Bring friends, and your appetite.
