Save The Date: Philadelphia Open Studio Tours (POST) Return For Two Weekends In October, Featuring Free Tours Of 300 Art Studios In 14 Neighborhoods

Ever wonder what an artist’s studio really looks like?

Philadelphia Open Studio Tours (POST), returning for its 13th year, exposes the inner workings of Philadelphia’s creative spaces to the public for two weekends in October.

It’s the largest tour of artist studios and creative workspaces in the Philadelphia region, and one of the premier open studio tour events in the entire country. POST is a program from The Center for Emerging Visual Artists.

The 2012 Tour will take place October 6-7 for venues West of Broad Street and October 20-21 for venues East of Broad Street. The tours run from noon-6 p.m. on both weekends, both days.

Check out the more than 300 participating artists and search by neighborhood on POST’s website so you can start planning your own itinerary. (We’ll be helping you out with that with a more detailed guide in the coming weeks.)

Insider tip: in addition to the two weekends of studio tours, POST includes several key exhibitions and special programming throughout the whole month. Details here.

Also, make sure to purchase tickets for the POST kick-off party at World Cafe Live on Tuesday, October 2. It’s a dazzling evening of music, burlesque, circus performances, dance, food, drinks, a raffle with seriously awesome prizes and the chance to mingle with Philadelphia’s creative community. Tickets, $35 general admission or $75 VIP (work of art, drink coupon, two POST trolley tickets) are available online.
