Campus Philly’s College Day 2012 returns to the city this Saturday, September 29 with food, music and entertainment on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway along with free student admission to a dozen museums.

One of those museums is the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which is kicking off College Day 2012 with an awesome edition of Art After 5 the night before, Friday, September 28.

Titled the “Philadelphia DJ Dance Party,” the event celebrates the cool new exhibition Full Spectrum: Prints from the Brandywine Workshop. As with every Art After 5, Starr events will stock the bar and sell hors d’oeuvres.

The dance party begins at 5:45 p.m. and continues until midnight with many museum galleries open throughout the whole night. Here’s the program:

Great Stair Hall: From 5:45-8 p.m., Philly-based DJ Phoenix will open the dance party. From 8 p.m.-midnight, Rich Medina and The Marksmen will present Jump N Funk.

Alter Gallery 176: The Philly Youth Poetry Movement will share literary expression from 5:45-7 p.m., followed by Spoken Soul 215 until 9 p.m.

Lenfest Hall: Visitors can collaborate with Philadelphia Pop artist Perry Milou to create an interactive masterwork, a four-by-eight-foot night cityscape.

Throughout the Museum: Campus Philly will offer giveaways and insider tips on making the most of College Day on the Parkway. Many of the galleries will remain open until midnight for a full exploration of exhibitions and the museum’s collection.

And don’t forget you can catch Open Air from the museum’s East Terrace from 8-11 p.m.

On College Day itself the next day, Saturday September 29, admission to the PMA is free for students. Check out more details on College Day in our previous post.
