Noted Philadelphia artist Edna Andrade is best known for her optical and hard-edged Op Art abstractions.
And now’s your chance to see a broad collection of her wonderful work at a special retrospective at The Print Center.
Featuring two dozen prints created in the 1960s through 1980s, Color Motion will be the first retrospective dedicated to Andrade’s printed works. The exhibition will consist of three walls designed by ANONA Studio covered with Andrade’s abstract print motifs.
Andrade’s printed works are not only fascinating from an optical standpoint, but they also capture her keen sense of creativity and her background as an art teacher and graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
An opening reception will be held Thursday, September 13 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., beginning with a gallery talk by the curator.
Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
