The Schuylkill River Development Corporation To Unveil A New 9/11 Memorial On The Schuylkill River Trail This Tuesday, September 11

This Tuesday, September 11 at 1 p.m., the Schuylkill River Development Corporation and Mayor Nutter are hosting an Unveiling and Dedication Ceremony for the new 9/11 Memorial on the Schuylkill River Trail.
The memorial is located just south of the Chestnut Street Bridge.
The memorial features an actual piece of steel from the World Trade Center emerging from a granite base, and honors the heroes and victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, including three Philadelphians who lost their lives in the World Trade Center.
It’s a great location for an important piece of civic symbolism. Make sure to take note when you next pass by.
