Before The Bridge Music Festival Returns This Saturday, October 13

There’s no denying Philadelphia is where it’s at for great local music culture in the tri-state area.
But the Before the Bridge Music Festival does back up a valid argument with its annual gathering that there is, in fact, a ton of noteworthy musicians you can see just over the state line in Collingswood.
The Third Annual Before The Bridge Music Festival, returning Saturday, October 13, has a killer lineup of acclaimed local indie artists like Heyward Howkins of The War on Drugs and Nightlands, the outrageously awesome comedy rock spectacular known as Sweatheart (soon to play Terminal 5 in NYC with The Darkness — catch them while they’re still hometown underground), the Bucks County-native headlining fusion rockers Illinois, the new project from Jay Laughlin, the man behind Lenola and Like A Fox, called JJL and more: Gunfight!, Belgrade, Goodnight Lights, Prowler, Monko, She Hates Me, Djs Nick Cain & Brian Ross and MC Carolyn Busa.
Bands start at 1 p.m. and jam until 10. Sponsors include Grooveground, Collingswood’s favorite coffee cafe, music store, urban gift gallery and nightspot all in one. Also Plantlifemusic production and music publishing company, and the local non-profit Community Rocks.
The festival is completely free, but be sure to bring some cash for browsing the vendor booths.
