Dapper Dog, Little Baby’s Ice Cream And Yards Brewery Present “Grip Up!”, An Arm-Wrestling Competition, Movie Screening And Beer Garden Event, Saturday, October 6

The Dapper Dog, Little Baby’s Ice Cream and Yards Brewery are flexing some major muscle with “Grip Up!”, an amateur arm-wrestling competition this Saturday, October 6.

The event is being paired with an outdoor screening of the classic arm-wrestling film Over The Top (1987) starring Philly film hero Sylvester Stallone.

Think you can hold your own in the arm-wrestling ring? Sign up to compete by emailing your name, age, weight and weight class (heavyweight or lighweight) to info@thedapperdog.org. Deadline is the day of the event, October 6, at 5:30 p.m. (so you can still sign up in person day-of). Check out the official rules for the competition here.

The entry fee is a $20 donation that goes directly to the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Admission is free for spectators, but you’re encouraged to be generous with the PSPCA donation jar. And the event is BYOB, but if you bring anything except Yards, you must donate more to the PSPCA.

The top competitors in each category get get awesome prizes. And the first 20 eliminated from the Competition get a free scoop of Little Baby’s “Brown Butter Brawler” Ice Cream to help soothe your bruised ego. So there’s that.

It’s all going down at the Garden Variety courtyard in Northern Liberties. See you there.
