Former Daily Show Writer David Javerbaum To Spread The Good Word With A Reading From His New Book, The Last Testament: A Memoir By God, At The Gershman Y, Thursday October 4

Being busy listening to everyone prayers and doing so many righteous deeds, God has a lot on His plate. Even so, He apparently had time to write a book, and He’s sent a messenger, David Javerbaum, who comes to the Gershman Y on Thursday, October 4 to read, discuss and sign The Last Testament: A Memoir By God.
Javerbaum’s shtick is that he transcribed the Almighty’s good words for this mighty tome. Turns out the man upstairs has much to share since the publication of his former perennially popular best-selling publications — The Old and New Testaments and Koran — all of which are more than a couple millennia old at this point.
Of course, it’s a satire, and the book pokes fun at religious and secular beliefs and attitudes with spirited verve. Which is to say, it’s highly irreverent, and you’d expect noting less from Javerbaum, a former head writer and executive producer of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
Javerbaum promises to share some of God’s juiciest revelations, and you can hear them whilst partaking of wafers and wine.
This will no doubt be a sacrilegious event. Go forth and laugh.
