Greensgrow Farms To Host Its Fifth Annual Fall Festival This Saturday, October 6: Food Trucks, Sustainable Demos, Farm Animals, Craft Bazaar, Live Music And More
Events include a chili competition from 1-3 p.m. where you make your taste buds be the judge of the best chili in Philadelphia.
Kids can stop by the Subaru kids’ corner for some sustainable fun and food. There will be face painting, pumpkin painting, upcycled crafts, terraniums, organic snacks and more. Be sure to let them get a look at the adorable animals like the dwarf goats, chickens, turtles, Ping the Duck, Blanche the cat and the famous (and adorable) Milkshake the pig.
Don’t miss some informative and fun demonstrations on how to build a harvest holiday centerpiece, carve a bird feeder out of a gourd and make snacks and crafts out of pumpkin seeds. Watch some how-to’s on cider pressing, honey harvesting, pickling cabbage and more throughout the day.
There’s also a whole schedule of awesome organic gardening demos and tastings featuring chefs like Best of Philly-winning George Sabatino from Stateside. They’re not just talking food, either — they’ll demo some heirloom cocktails and clever garnish ideas as well.
Check out the goods at the artsy craft bazaar featuring local artists and businesses and grab some tasty food truck favorites from local legends like Leotah’s Place Coffeehouse, Little Baby’s Ice Cream, Michael’s Savory Seitan, Polish Farmers Pierogies and more. Live music will be playing in the background all day.
Happening rain or shine, this fest sounds like a satisfaction-guaranteed fall festival to us. One last thing: don’t forget to bring your unwanted coats for the Subaru coat drive.
