Manayunk Celebrates Halloween With A 5K Run, Pretzel Park Fall Festival, Live Music, Pumpkin Painting And More, Saturday, October 27

Looking for the perfect fall festival to get into the spirit of the season before the haunted holiday?

Manayunk has a whole day of free events planned on Saturday, October 27, so you can get your fix of fall just in time for Halloween.

The day will begin at 9 a.m. as runners race in costume to benefit Depaul Catholic School, starting at the Bryn Mawr Running Co. and taking a 5k tour encompassing Main Street and the Towpath in Manayunk.

From 10 a.m.-8 p.m., they’ll be throwing the Pretzel Park Fall Festival, with costumes, candy and more.

Trade your tricks for treats at participating businesses from noon-4 p.m. Don’t just dress the kids, though, deck out your dogs for the “Howling in the Hills! Costumed Dog Parade” at 11 a.m., then at 1 p.m. parade the kids and sign them up for the costume contest.

Also be sure not to miss the fall scene family photos from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. and pumpkin painting from 1-5 p.m..

From noon-6 p.m. live music will be entertaining Manayunk shoppers, then at 2:30 p.m., a live performance by Merge Dance Studio will wow the crowd.

We suggest you stick it out until the end for the twilight screening of the Bela Lugosi classic, Voodoo Man, happening from 6-8 p.m. which will feature special guest Stella, the host of Saturday Night Dead, the Maneater from Manayunk.

Sounds like fun. I never knew Bela Lugosi was in a movie called Voodoo Man. I’ll have to look into it.
