Photo Of The Day: Happy Columbus Day 2012!

Enjoy a picnic outside in Logan Square by the iconic Swann Fountain, check out a museum along the Parkway and stick around for Open Air at night. (Photo by B. Krist for GPTMC)
Whether or not you have an extended weekend in honor of Happy Columbus Day, there’s plenty to do out and about in the city today and tonight.
Check out Weekend Picks for a look at what’s going on.
Good to know: all the museums along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, including the usually-closed-on-Mondays Philadelphia Museum of Art, are open. So it’s a great chance to check out some of the newest exhibitions, plus the brand new Rodin Museum. Also make sure to check out Eastern State Penitentiary, the Philadelphia Zoo, Please Touch Museum or Mutter, all open today as well.
We’ll be back on Tuesday with much more going on in Philadelphia, from festivals to art exhibits to what’s happening on Halloween.
Make sure to follow us on Twitter for updates throughout the day!
