If fashion design is up your alley, you won’t want to miss this “tailor-made” event.
Norman Porter, a local denim, canvas and leather company, will be demonstrating how to construct denim jeans at Art in the Age on Friday, November 2, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Learn the fascinating process of denim and leather crafting during this event that serves as a kick-off to a month-long exhibition (ending November 30) that not only highlights this unique process, but launches a highly limited-edition denim series specifically created for Art in the Age.
Each of the ultra-exclusive 10-pair denim run is crafted with 14 oz. Japanese raw selvage denim. The jeans will also feature a custom hand-stamped leather patch, premium black duck twill pocket lining and hand-hammered rivets that help to create one-of-a-kind jeans.
Operating out of Fishtown, Norman Porter embraces the strange and wacky, and offers general staple pieces that are just a little bit atypical.
Retailing for $200, the jeans can be purchased in store or on the Art in the Age website.
Each pair of Art in the Age jeans will be finished by hand in-store during this happening event, while complimentary refreshments by Art in the Age, Spodee Wine, South County Brewing Co. and Side Project Jerky will be served.
