Start the holiday season right at Franklin Square’s 2012 holiday celebration.
At 5 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, the event kicks off with Benjamin Franklin turning over the “key” to Franklin Square to Santa Claus and Santa taking the first ride of the holiday season around the carousel at Franklin Square. Bring a camera!
After, say hello to the holidays with seasonal crafts like mini snowmen- and snowflake ornament-making for your Christmas tree. Warm up with some toasty cider and nibble on yummy cookies. Did we mention that the crafts and treats are both free?
Plus, Franklin Square’s iconic attractions, Philly Mini Golf, Philadelphia Park Liberty Carousel and Square Burger, will all be open from 5-7 p.m. on the evening of the event.
Putt through some of the city’s most famous icons including the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Love Park, take a ride on hometown racehorse heroes Afleet Alex or Smarty Jones aboard the carousel, enjoy a rest next to the refreshing fountain and dine on some of the tastiest burgers and shakes in town.
Come one, come all to this great Christmas event.
