The Philadelphia Collection, a week-long series of independently-produced local fashion and style events, was another smash success this past September.
One of the major goals of the annual fashion-themed event series is to help place Philadelphia on the national fashion map, a place it’s already earning through the growth of the local boutique scene, the impressive work being created by locally bred designers and the influx of major fashion brands.
Proof that it’s working? Take a look at the above accolades. Pretty awesome to see CNBC, Lucky Magazine and Forbes all naming Philly as one of the country’s best cities for shopping.
And one recent addition: Nylon Magazine just published an article called “Urban Outfitter’s Philadelphia” interviewing head web stylist Katherine Anderson and declared that “Philadelphia is quietly becoming a fashion powerhouse.”
