Due to the construction at City Hall (renovating Dilworth Plaza, to include an ice rink — yay!) Philadelphia’s official Christmas tree will once again be located at the Christmas Village in Love Park this year.
The 38-foot LED tree will light up with thousands of colorful lights on Wednesday, December 5 at 5 p.m.
Lisa Nutter, Mayor Nutter’s wife, will do the honors and illuminate the tree for the 2012 holiday season.
But that’s not all. Philadelphia’s First Lady will also do the honors of illuminating the holiday trees all around Love Park.
During the event, enjoy mulled wine from Chaddsford Winery and browse hundreds of Christmas ornaments, homemade gifts and jewelry from 60 vendors at the Christmas Village.
