Award-winning independent couture dressmaker Irina Sigal will bring her new namesake boutique at 20th and Locust Streets to light with an all-day open house on Thursday, December 6, from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Russian-born Sigal, a well-established leader in the Philly fashion community known for her intricate ready-to-wear and haute couture designs, has garnered several of Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best of Philly” accolades and has been awarded “Best Alterations and Tailoring” by MyPHL 17’s Philly HOT LIST.
Currently operating a boutique in Elkins Park, PA as well as having her clothes carried at Joan Shepp, she’s not only earned a reputation for her ability to re-craft materials that would otherwise be discarded, but she also truly embodies the spirit of a couture designer and flawlessly custom fits each piece for its owner.
For nearly 20 years her design aesthetic has remained true: make clothing that represents the personal styles of the women wearing it.
With specialties in suiting, gowns, bridal dresses and leather goods, Sigal will continue to construct personalized, timeless garments like customized leather designs, suits, dresses, skirts and blouses that are all worthy of the label “couture.”
Stop by and meet this multi-talented designer at her open house, during which Sigal is encouraging attendees to bring new or gently-used clothing to be donated to the Salvation Army specifically for victims of Hurricane Sandy.
