The Philadelphia Orchestra is planning a stellar evening to celebrate the 156th Anniversary of the Academy of Music on Saturday, January 26.
None other than internationally acclaimed actor (and noted Philadelphia Union fan) Hugh Jackman will be joining the orchestra’s much-awaited brand new Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin to lead the acclaimed ensemble in a magical musical event. And you’re invited.
As a nod to the very first Academy Anniversary concert during which Eugene Ormandy shared his podium with Danny Kaye, the evening promises the ultimate in popular and classical programming with everything from sweeping orchestral works to Broadway favorites.
Concert-only tickets, priced at $200 and located in the Amphitheatre level, are now available; you can also spring for the full “white tie” gala ticket, which includes dinner and dancing at the Hyatt at the Bellevue and a special President’s Open House preceding the concert.
Concert and Ball Gala tickets are available online starting October 16 at www.philorch.org/156Ball or by calling the Academy of Music Restoration Fund Office at 215.893.1978.
Musicians of the Philadelphia Orchestra are graciously donating their services for this concert. It’s going to be a truly unforgettable night in Philadelphia.
