Discover the story behind the Philadelphia Mummers with Behind the Sequins: Showtime for the Philadelphia Mummers, a brand new six-installment video series released by Visit Philly.
The videos tell the story of Philadelphia’s beloved and iconic Mummers through the people who make the costumes, choreograph the routines, build the sets and march — and have done so for generations.
The first four episodes of the series are now available, and you can view them all on YouTube.
Each episode is only 90 seconds or so, a brief but bright glimpse into Mummerdom. Episode One is focused on choreography; Episode Two is focused on music; Episode Three is focused on costumes; and Episode Four, just released today, gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the Mummers elaborate props and sets.
Check out the full playlist of videos above, or on YouTube.
