The Philadelphia Flyers welcome fans back to the Wells Fargo Center this week to kickoff the lockout shortened 2013 season.

Flyer fans, rejoice!
The NHL lockout has ended and professional hockey is back in Philadelphia. To celebrate, the Flyers are opening the doors of the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday, January 17 for a free open practice at 6 p.m. As a thank-you to the fans, the team is welcoming Flyers fans of all ages to see the team take the ice for the first time this year.
While free, tickets are required for entry and are available at www.flyers.nhl.com. Of course, tickets are going quickly, so move fast!
In addition to Thursday’s open practice, the Flyers will be around town getting fans excited throughout the week:
Thursday, January 17: The Flyers Street Team will be at Reading Terminal Market to “Flyer Up” the lunchtime crowd at 12:20 p.m., handing out free t-shirts and cheer cards.
Friday, January 18: XFINITY Live! Philadelphia will host the WMMR Puck Drop Party from 8 p.m. until midnight, including a pep rally at 9 p.m. The party will feature a live band, the Flyers Ice Girls and giveaways.
Saturday, January 19: The Flyers host the Pittsburgh Penguins in the nationally televised home opener at 3 p.m. In anticipation, XFINITY Live! will open its doors at 10 a.m., with live music starting at 1 p.m.
