The esteemed Lee Ranaldo, co-founder and guitarist of alternative rock band Sonic Youth, will be gracing Philadelphia with his presence later this week.
He will be performing at the Philadelphia Museum of Art on January 4, 5 and 6 in conjunction with the Dancing around the Bride exhibition currently on display at the museum.
Catch Ranaldo in the Dorrance Galleries, where he’ll perform John Cage compositions and works of his own. In addition to live music, attendees will also get to watch a live dance performance from former members of Merce Cunningham Dance Company.
Ranaldo will perform from 4:30-7 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, January 5 and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, January 6.
In addition to the performances, Ranaldo will be participating in a conversation with Daniel Squire, a former Cunningham Dancer and the curator of the Dance Program for the Dancing around the Bride exhibit on January 5 at 4 p.m.
