Fresh off its three-bell review in this past Sunday’s Inquirer, in which Craig LaBan (unofficially) crowned it the city’s best barbecue, Fette Sau is hosting a special beer release party this Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m.
Fette Sau is celebrating two new local custom brews, one from Sly Fox and one from Dock Street.
The Dock Street Teuton Porter is a hybrid of two distinct styles: a top fermented Porter and a bottom fermented German Schwarzbier.
And Sly Fox has resurrected a long gone and almost forgotten beer style for Fette Sau: the Pennsylvania Swankey.
Both brews are custom specialty beers being made specifically for Fette Sau.
And this Thursday, from 7-9 p.m., Fette Sau will be tapping their first kegs of both. On hand will be Sly Fox Brewing Company’s Brian O’Reilly and Dock Street Brewery’s Scott Morrison, as well as Fette Sau co-owner Joe Carroll.
As for specials, Fette Sau’s smoked flank steak will be available for $18/lb. The new Sly Fox and Dock Street beers will be available at $5 for a pint and $20 for a half gallon.
All the makings for a pretty solid time.
