Awesome news alert: remember when last summer, we first told you about the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s intention to introduce new pricing and extending evening hours in 2013? Well, now it’s official: the Art Museum is kicking off their brand new Pay-What-You-Wish Wednesday Evening admission policy this Wednesday night, February 13.
The new Wednesday evening hours begin at 5 p.m. and go until 8:45 p.m. During that time, you can visit the museum and pay what you wish as your admission fee… $12, $10, $5, $2, etc. Any amount that you’d like.
And then you get to take in the museum’s amazing collection, one of the most renowned art museums in the world.
For the budget-conscious art lovers, this is definitely an awesome new offering from the Philadelphia Museum of Art. And with Valentine’s Day this week, talk about a great date idea.
Visitors on Wednesday nights will have the opportunity to explore the entire main building, showcasing works by Marcel Duchamp, Salvador Dalí, Himalayan artists and local luminaries such as Thomas Eakins. Every week, music will fill the Great Stair Hall, and once a month, musicians will perform live in the galleries.
