The Mississippi Blues Project, a year-long initiative brought to you by WXPN is coming to World Cafe Live on Friday, February 15 as a part of the venue’s free at noon concert series.
The Mississippi Blues Project’s goal is to bring blues music to the Philadelphia area. The project is supported by the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage and features online initiatives and live concerts.
The initiative has been working since August 2012 to bring blues music appreciation to Philadelphia.
World Cafe Live is hosting one of said concerts on Friday, February 15. The two hour long concert will feature Anthony Sherrod, Robert Belfour and Bilbo Walker. Between the three, they have recorded nationally-recognized albums, performed all over the country and recorded songs for films. That’s an impressive bunch.
