The Addams Family, a new musical comedy, brings a popular and sweet yet totally oddball crew to The Academy of Music
, starting on March 19.
Creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky, the Addams’ are a one-of-a-kind family.
In this playful production, their world is rocked when Wednesday Addams falls in love with a young man from a typical middle American family. Being smitten causes dramatic personality changes: Wednesday, once the ultimate princess of darkness, becomes downright cheerful. The change in attitude causes her concerned parents to wonder where they went wrong.
When a dinner is arranged for both parents to meet, the Addams do their best to appear normal so as not upset their beloved daughter’s beau’s mom and dad. But of course, this clan can only hide their lunatic lifestyle but for so long. Needless to say, mayhem ensues.
The full Addams crew is on hand to join in the antics: Morticia, Gomez, Pugsley, Uncle Fester, Lurch and Grandma are here in all their bizarre glory.
Full of twists and plenty of laughs, the show proves that no matter what your family background, love conquers all, and, if you allow it to happen, darkness and the unknown can be pretty enlightening.
